I was not raised Catholic. In fact I did not agree with half of what they believed in nor their behaviors. But over the years Pope John Paul has earned my uptmost respect. He dedicated his entire life to helping people, and bringing them to the Lord. Even during his sickest times, he purged on to do God's work. I know at times it must have been embarrassing to him for the condition his body was in, but no matter, he still traveled and preached the gospel. He didn't let people intimidate him and stood up for what he believed. I feel he was a modern day prophet who loved people unconditionally.
I was very saddened when he died and I shed tears. But right now he is in the place he also worked his entire life to get to, Heaven. And I truly believe that is where he is right now.
I do not know if any Pope can fill his shoes. Personally, in my opinion, they would be very hard shoes to fill as was with Mother Theresa.
Pope John Paul will be missed dearly, but now his work on earth is done, and he has been rewarded for his magnificent achievements and work.
God Bless.
