| Gone With The Wind is my all time favorite movie. Why? I suppose it could be because it takes you back to a simplier time. A time where there were no televisions, therefore didn't have to worry about the kids getting too much violence. A time when it wasn't considered child abuse because as a parent you disciplined your children in a manner that was appriotiate. A time where you didn't worry about the mortgage, light bill, water bill, gas bill. A time you didn't have to worry about your automobile breaking down and being late for work or an appointment. A time when people didn't waste food because they sweated and grew their own, and knew the value of it. A time when people actually had extra "time" for themselves and their families. A time when neighbors helped neighbors and a handshake and word meant something. A time when you didn't have to worry about sending your kids out to school and wondering if they'd be safe that day. A time you didn't have to worry about going out after dark and being mugged or caught in a drive by. And the list goes on, but you get the general idea. So, this is my tribute to Scarlet and Rhett. No matter how many times I have watched this movie, I still hope in the end that Rhett does not walk out that door! Ahhh, us hopeless romantics. |
